YUVA is dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged children and youth by maximising impact in the education sector by focusing on core fundamentals – upgrading basic infrastructure facilities in schools, providing access to modern means of teaching-learning, and developing more compassionate and grateful youth that become ambassadors of social change. Today, YUVA has impacted over 6 million beneficiaries and 4,100 schools.
In partnership with YUVA, we collaborate in villages across Southern India to construct new schools and improve existing infrastructure. Our efforts included providing essential facilities such as improved sanitation, clean drinking water and access to 100% Digital Smart classrooms. Additionally, we offer scholarships and faculty upskilling programs to elevate their educational and professional journeys. An impact assessment revealed a remarkable fourfold improvement in learning outcomes across subjects—Math, Science, and English—in schools where our intervention took place.
Driven by our core belief in the right to education, we are dedicated to empowering children to become responsible citizens of our nation.
Zero Waste
We are committed to maximizing the utilization of resources while minimizing waste production. In pursuit of this goal, we have established Africa’s first-of-its-kind zero-waste distillery. From converting sludge and dry matter generated during the distillation process into nutrient-rich manure for farms, to re-utilizing methane produced as a by-product of spent wash treatments to reduce power consumption, to recycling the water used in our plant for fermentation, we leave no resource untapped. Additionally, we purify the CO2 to the highest ISBT standards and monetize it for use in the F&B industry. Each and every by-product is repurposed to create value furthering our sustainability efforts.
Recycling Program
Currently, Africa recycles only 4% of its waste, a stark contrast to the African Union’s vision of recycling at least 50% of waste in African cities. Recognizing the urgent need for a cleaner and greener Africa, we are committed to making a difference. Presently, we recycle 30% of our spirit bottles, playing our part in reducing waste and carbon footprint. Moving forward, we are dedicated to increasing our recycling efforts and aspire to reach the 50% glass bottle recycling goal by 2025.
